2021: The year ahead
2021 will be an exciting year for Heart of Australia. With 3 Heart trucks currently in operation, we are excited to expand our coverage of Queensland with an additional 2 Heart trucks, HEART4 and HEART5.
HEART4, our second ground-breaking 34-wheel B-Double, will feature multiple consultation rooms for a range of specialist services, including cardiology, neurology and endocrinology.
With a route encompassing the communities of north eastern Queensland, HEART4 is a vital addition to ensure that those living in rural and remote communities receive specialist medical care. HEART4 will visit the towns of Sarina, Proserpine, Ayr, Palm Island and Cooktown commencing May 2021.
HEART5 is expected to join the Heart of Australia program late 2021 and will feature a state of the art CT-scanner and x-ray. It will be a first-of-a-kind offering to country Queensland.
Heart of Australia’s purpose is to improve health outcomes for all, ensuring that everyone has access to specialist medical services without having to travel long distances from their home.
As the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic continues we want to reassure our commitment to those in the communities we visit. With strict protocols in place, we are committed to keep those in the communities we visit and our team members safe. Our greatest priority is the health and safety of our team members, patients and the communities they live in.
The Heart of Australia Team are excited for the year ahead, and are thrilled to announce that our Annual Gala Dinner is back this year. After unfortunately being cancelled in 2020 due to COVID-19, we are looking forward to be celebrating another year on the road.
