Professional Education Program

GP Education Program

Heart of Australia is committed to aiding the professional development of our rural and remote GPs, nurses and pharmacists without leaving their community.

The GP Education program is a series of educational sessions delivered by our team of visiting specialists and covers a broad range of topics across cardiology, endocrinology, neurology, gynaecology, gastroenterology and radiology.

Bayer Australia Ltd has supported the Heart of Australia GP Education Program through the provision of an educational grant.

Structural Heart Program

The Structural Heart Program is a free series of four sessions (held live and via webinar) discussing new therapies in structural heart disease that are now becoming commonplace.

These therapies include:

  • TAVI (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement) for treatment of aortic stenosis
  • MitraClip™ for the treatment of mitral regurgitation
  • LAA Occlusion (Left Atrial Appendage Occlusion) for stroke prevention

The first session of this series was presented in June at the Rural Doctors Association of Queensland Conference 2022.

If you would like to sign up to join the program, you can do so by clicking here and filling out a brief survey. We will then be in touch with an access code that will allow you to view these sessions.
