Heart of Australia brings specialist services to rural communities on two custom-designed clinic-on-wheels, each driven by a Kenworth K200 prime mover.
The purpose-built, self-sufficient trailers provides several private clinic rooms, a testing room and a reception area for patients. It is wheelchair accessible and fully-air-conditioned for comfort.
The first 18-wheel semi-trailer mobile clinic for Heart of Australia that Dr Gomes personally-designed was launched on the 3rd of October 2014 after six years of planning and construction. It has welcomed more than 5000 GP-referred patients on its 8000km monthly visits to 13 bush communities throughout southwest and central Queensland. Rolf is proud of the evidence that Heart of Australia has so far saved more than 250 lives of rural Australians by diagnosing patients with previously undetected, critical cardiac conditions.
The second even bigger semi-trailer mobile clinic saw its first patient in Dalby on the 26th of September 2018 and is now a part of a growing fleet of state of the art, custom designed and constructed high-tech mobile medical clinics offering a wide variety of Specialist Services to outback and rural QLD communities. With the addition of the second truck, Heart of Australia has also been able to add even more townships to its routes and is now proudly servicing 16 rural and outback communities.
